Garage storage · Start with the space you use

Plan a garage that still fits your car.

Make room for your car, the things you use, and the way you move through the garage. Start with parking, then choose storage around it.

Park first. Plan around it.

Your car needs room to open, too.

Park where you normally park. Open the doors and hatch, then walk your usual route into the house. That is the space to keep clear.

1

The parked car

Keep the space the whole vehicle uses, including mirrors. Try the plan with every car that parks here.

2

Doors and hatch

Leave room to get in, help a passenger, and unload. A cabinet that fits beside a closed car may still block its door.

3

The route you walk

Keep a clear path to the house and the things you use. Try walking it while carrying groceries or a bin.

Try it before choosing storage: mark a cabinet or shelf's footprint with removable tape. Include the space its doors or drawers need when open.

Give the remaining space a job

Put things where you will use them.

Everyday things: keep them close

Put the things you grab often near the door or work area where you use them. Shelves, baskets, and cabinets can keep supplies together and easy to reach.

Bikes and long tools: try the wall

Hooks and wall panels can lift bulky gear off the floor. Check where the bike, handlebar, or tool sticks out—not just the depth of the empty panel.

Seasonal bins: save your everyday space

Save easy-to-reach spots for the things you use every day. Seasonal bins can go on shelves or overhead racks if ladder access works for you.

Find a useful starting point

Let the storage planner help.

Tell it what you want to improve and what needs a home. It suggests storage to explore, with an idea you can save or discuss with Ace.

  1. 1

What would make your garage better?

More room to park, easier access, less clutter, or space for projects.

  2. 2

    What needs a home?

Bikes, tools, seasonal bins, and the other things you keep in your garage.

Start without measurements. The planner suggests an idea; Ace confirms product sizes, quantities, and fit in your garage before the installation is planned.

What gets checked before installation?

We check the space with your vehicles, the reach you want, and how cabinet doors, drawers, and the garage door move. Wall or ceiling storage also needs suitable mounting for the chosen product.

Keep access to door controls, electrical panels, and attic openings in the conversation. Photos and any measurements you already have can help.

Mounting requirements depend on the product: manufacturer installation manual (industry example).
