Preparation
- Ceilings must be clean, dry, sound, and free of dust, mildew, loose texture, peeling coatings, and water-damaged material.
- Repairs and bare areas receive substrate-appropriate preparation and primer when required by the written scope.
- Water stains are investigated first; active roof, plumbing, condensation, or ventilation problems must be corrected.
Important limits
- Factory White is the only Ace ceiling color; it does not carry an assigned Sherwin-Williams color code.
- Paint can cover a corrected stain but cannot stop its moisture source.
After Installation
Cleaning and Real-World Use
Ultra-flat ceiling finishes are selected for appearance, not frequent scrubbing. Remove dust gently and avoid burnishing the surface.
Moisture comes first
Paint improves a properly prepared surface; it does not fix active water entry, condensation, mildew, or failing drywall, wood, metal, or masonry. Ace documents repairs and exclusions in the written scope, consistent with the existing two-year painting warranty.
Primer Is a Scope Decision

A customer chooses color and finish. Ace chooses compatible preparation and primer after inspecting the actual surface.
Block and masonry
Concrete block and masonry must be cured, clean, dry, and free of efflorescence or active moisture. Porosity and pH determine whether a masonry conditioner, block filler, or compatible primer is specified.
Wood
Bare wood, knots, tannin-prone species, and repaired areas are evaluated separately and receive a compatible primer when needed.
Metal
Rust, mill scale, oil, and failing factory finish must be addressed. Bare ferrous, galvanized, and previously coated metal require different adhesion and corrosion-control decisions.

Questions About Premium Ceiling Paint
Is Premium Ceiling Paint used on every garage surface?
No. Ace uses it for ceiling only. Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and floors have different coating requirements.
Does this product remove a moisture problem?
No. Active leaks, condensation, mildew, efflorescence, and substrate failures must be corrected first. Paint is not moisture remediation, and those causes remain subject to the written painting warranty exclusions.
Is primer automatically included everywhere?
Primer is a scope decision, not a color option. Ace evaluates drywall, block or masonry, wood, metal, stains, repairs, and existing coatings separately and writes the required preparation into the quote.
How many finish coats does Ace apply?
The installed system is based on two finish coats over appropriate preparation. The current product data sheet, substrate, color, conditions, and written scope control the final application.
